Upon your arrival in Lima, a member of our team will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you in our private transportation to your hotel located in the city center. You will have the rest of the day free to relax and prepare for your upcoming Peru vacation adventure!

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before beginning a guided tour of Lima, exploring its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern.
The tour includes a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana, a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century A.D., considered a “sacred village” by the Incas.
Continue through the Historic Center of Lima, where you'll see more than fifty colonial buildings and landmarks, including Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and City Hall.
The highlight is a visit to the San Francisco Monastery, the greatest example of colonial religious art in the Americas, with a special tour of its famous underground crypts, the “Catacombs.”
The tour ends in modern Lima, exploring traditional residential areas such as San Isidro’s El Olivar Park, Miraflores, and the coastal mall Larcomar.

After breakfast, a representative from Peru Inkas Top will pick you up from your hotel in Lima (time to be confirmed) and take you to the airport for your flight to Arequipa.
Upon arrival at Arequipa airport, our team will warmly welcome you and accompany you to your hotel. There, you'll be offered complimentary coca tea and muña tea — natural drinks that help your body adapt to the high altitude of the “White City.”
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided cultural tour through the beautiful streets of Arequipa, filled with cathedrals, churches, monasteries, and historic architecture. Your local guide will share stories of Arequipa’s evolution from pre-Hispanic times through the Spanish colonial period to modern day.
You’ll visit iconic landmarks such as the impressive Arequipa Cathedral, located in the elegant Main Square (Plaza de Armas). Though damaged and rebuilt several times due to earthquakes, the cathedral has become more stunning with each restoration.
Next, you’ll head to the famous Yanahuara Viewpoint, built in the 19th century with carved volcanic stone arches offering spectacular views of Arequipa and its majestic surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. The nearby San Juan de Yanahuara Church, built in 1750, adds charm to the setting. Inscriptions in the stone honor notable residents of the city over the past two centuries.
After the tour, you’ll return to your hotel with a deeper appreciation for this remarkable colonial city and its cultural legacy.

Today, our journey through Peru begins early in the morning as we depart from the White City of Arequipa and head toward the Colca Valley. This is a scenic drive through snowcapped volcanoes, rugged pampas, traditional terraced farmlands, and picturesque villages where ancient customs are still very much alive.
Along the way, we’ll make several stops. The first is at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where you’ll have the chance to observe countless guanacos, alpacas, and vicuñas grazing freely across the plains. While we won’t be visiting a farm, you’ll see these iconic Andean animals in their natural habitat.
This vast reserve spans nearly 366,936 hectares and was created to protect local flora, fauna, and ecosystems that were once under threat. It also plays a vital role in the conservation of vicuñas through repopulation programs.
In addition to herds of camelids, the reserve is home to the adorable southern viscacha (a large rodent), Andean foxes, condors, and Andean flamingos (parihuanas). In total, 169 animal species have been identified here, including 23 mammals and 138 bird species such as blue-billed ducks, eagles, and kestrels. During migration season, flamingos arrive to wade in the waters of Lake Salinas. This classic tour is a paradise for birdwatching and high-altitude ecotourism in Peru.
Continuing the drive, we pass by the Chucura Volcano and ascend to the Andes Viewpoint of Patapampa, situated at 4,900 meters (16,076 feet) above sea level. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the snowcapped peaks and volcanoes of the Arequipa region, including Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, and Ampato.
Our next stop is the town of Chivay, located at the gateway to the Colca Valley. This area is famous for its traditional terraced farming systems, built centuries ago by the indigenous people and still in use today. Founded by the Spanish, Chivay features colonial architecture and a charming local atmosphere. Here, you'll enjoy a traditional lunch before checking in to your hotel.
The afternoon is free for you to explore the town or join optional activities, such as hiking excursions into the Colca Canyon or visiting the nearby La Calera Hot Springs, located about 3 km from Chivay. Thanks to the region’s seismic activity, the Colca Valley is rich in natural thermal baths. La Calera features public hot springs with reputed healing properties, with waters reaching temperatures around 38°C (100°F).

Another early start on our Peru adventure—because there’s so much to see! First, we head to the famous viewpoint known as Cruz del Cóndor, near the small villages of Maca and Cabanaconde. Here, strong updrafts rise from the canyon, creating ideal conditions for the majestic Andean condors.
These enormous birds, with wingspans reaching up to three meters (nearly 10 feet), glide effortlessly on thermal currents—often in pairs—usually in the early morning or late afternoon. There's a very good chance of seeing them up close, flying just above the viewpoint, offering a truly unforgettable sight.
From this viewpoint, you'll also enjoy sweeping views into the dramatic depths of the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world.
Around 1:00 PM, you'll begin the journey toward Puno, the folkloric capital of Peru. Along the way, we’ll stop briefly at Patapampa (4,900 meters / 16,076 feet above sea level), the highest point of your trip so far. From this mountain pass, you'll admire panoramic views of the surrounding volcanic peaks—Sabancaya, Ampato, Misti, and Chachani.
Here, you'll also see a traditional apacheta, a sacred pile of stones left by travelers over centuries as an offering to the Andean gods, asking for protection and good fortune during their journey.
You’ll arrive in Puno around 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, our team will assist with your hotel check-in so you can enjoy a well-deserved rest by the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before an early pick-up for a full-day excursion on Lake Titicaca.
From the port, you'll board a motorboat and head to the remarkable Uros Islands, a group of floating islands built entirely from totora reeds. These islands date back to pre-Incan times and are located in the bay of Puno at an altitude of 3,810 meters (12,500 feet). You'll meet local families and learn how they have preserved their traditional lifestyle for generations.
The journey continues to Taquile Island, known for the friendliness of its people and their strong cultural identity. Residents of Taquile maintain traditional customs and clothing styles passed down for centuries. The island is also famous for its fine handwoven textiles, which feature vibrant colors and symmetrical designs that express ancient Andean beliefs and traditions.
After exploring the island and enjoying a traditional lunch, you’ll return by boat to Puno, arriving in the late afternoon.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 AM and take you to the bus station for your journey to Cusco. But this is not just a transfer — it’s a cultural experience. This guided bus tour includes visits to four fascinating sites along the way, each offering insight into the rich history and landscapes of southern Peru.
- Pukara: The most important and oldest ceremonial center on the Altiplano, featuring intriguing pre-Inca sculptures and tombs.
- La Raya Pass: The highest point of the route at 4,335 meters (14,222 feet), and the geographical divide between the Quechua and Aymara cultures. You'll enjoy incredible highland views and may spot llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas.
- Raqchi (Temple of Wiracocha): A monumental Inca structure, 100 meters long, 26 meters wide, and 14 meters high. The temple is divided into two aisles, each supported by eleven massive columns.
- Andahuaylillas: Known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes,” this church is one of the finest examples of Andean religious art, rich in murals, gold leaf, and baroque architecture.
Lunch is included en route. You will arrive in Cusco around 5:00 PM, where our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in and rest.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, a member of our staff will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. You’ll be welcomed with coca or muña tea to help you acclimate to the altitude.
From 9:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM: Begin your guided city tour of Cusco, which includes visits to:
- The Cathedral: An iconic colonial monument rich in history and art, located in Cusco’s main square.
- Koricancha (Temple of the Sun): Once the most important temple in the Inca Empire, now part of the Santo Domingo Convent.
- Sacsayhuaman: A grand ceremonial fortress just outside the city, built with massive stone blocks and designed in the shape of a puma’s head.
- Q’enqo: A mysterious religious site known as “The Labyrinth,” dedicated to the worship of the Earth (Pachamama).
- Puca Pucara: Meaning “Red Fortress,” this site was likely used for military and administrative purposes.
- Tambomachay: Also called the “Temple of Water,” this site is thought to have served as a sacred place for water rituals and purification.
After the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel to rest or explore the city at your own pace.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before being picked up around 8:30 AM for a full-day excursion to the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Your first stop is the charming town of Pisac, known for its vibrant artisan market and impressive Inca archaeological site. There, you’ll see agricultural terraces, a sophisticated irrigation system, an astronomical observatory, and a ceremonial solar clock called the Intiwatana.
After exploring the site, enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey to the town of Ollantaytambo.
Ollantaytambo is one of the most important archaeological complexes in the Sacred Valley. Built during the Inca Empire, it served as a fortified area with temples, terraces, and residential sectors. You’ll visit both religious and domestic areas of the site and learn about its strategic administrative and military functions—evident from its walls and towers.
At the end of the tour, you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and prepare for tomorrow’s long-awaited visit to the lost city of the Incas.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, you’ll take the bus up to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas" and one of the most impressive ancient sites in the world.
Overlooking the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu was built in the 15th century at the height of the Inca Empire. Though it was made known to the outside world in 1911 by American historian Hiram Bingham, locals had known about its existence long before. The site’s exact original purpose remains a mystery, as the Incas left no written records.
Explore the ruins with your expert local guide and wander through the ancient stone structures while imagining what life might have been like in this majestic city perched at nearly 8,000 feet (2,430 meters) above sea level.
In the afternoon, you'll take the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel for the night.

Next, head to the Botanical Garden to discover dozens of medicinal plant species that make up the natural pharmacy of the local communities. Your guide will explain the traditional uses of each plant and how they compare to modern medicine.
Return to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción for a refreshing lunch before your next adventure in the afternoon — the Cocha River excursion.
Glide along the calm waters of Inkaterra’s private oxbow lake in a wooden canoe. Try your hand at native fishing using a “catch and release” technique while enjoying the rich biodiversity that surrounds you. Keep an eye out for unique wildlife such as the hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), flycatchers, and the secretive grey-necked wood rail (Aramides cajanea).
Your excursion concludes with a stop at the eerie remnants of the “Fitzcarraldo” steamship, a relic that inspired the famous Werner Herzog film Fitzcarraldo, winner of Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982. Learn how this story helped inspire Inkaterra’s vision and commitment to conservation and cultural heritage.
After dinner, join the Collpa Inland Excursion, where you’ll observe nocturnal animals at a local clay lick. Watch from a strategically placed blind as various species engage in their nighttime rituals — a quiet, immersive experience that reveals the jungle's secret life after dark.
End your day with a satisfying dinner at the lodge before settling in for the night.
